How about a portrait of yourself or a loved one? There are some examples above. On the right is my daughter as a watercolor on silk. My husband is portrayed in enamel on steel and Jasmine is on the left, done in oil on canvas. I can work from your photo or one that I take. cost: One person, bust 9×12 =$1060 EC 11×14 =$1600 EC 16×20 =$3400 EC Each additional person in the image, add half the price, e.g.. 9×12 + 1 person more – $1590 9×12 + 2 persons more -$2120 A portrait would make a truly personal gift. Think about the generations to come and what a hand painted portrait of their ancestors would mean to them. Alcina

A Gemini Birthday

My daughter’s birthday was on Monday and I made this bracelet for her. She has two black cats and her astrological sign is Gemini or twins. So I made a lentil charm with a different cat sketched on each side.

Jazz time is here!

This Saturday will start the jazz festival in St. Lucia. I look forward to performances by Earl Klugh and Jean Luc Ponty in particular. Boo Hinkson, Carl Gustave and Harvey Millar are some of the excellent local jazz musicians that will also be performing. I have four Jazz prints to commemorate the occasion. The Jazz Horn Man is seen above. See the remaining three prints in my Original Digital Prints Album.

Paint Me Barbados 2010

I spent a wonderful week in Barbados for the first Paint Me Barbados event. That’s me in the blue t-shirt explaining some points about metal clay. Please forgive the poor picture. Angela Went, in the lighter blue t-shirt, hosted the class in her wonderfully outfitted jewelry studio in Pelican Village. Picture taken by Finola Prescott. Students made a silver clay pendant, which was later enameled with transparent enamels. They also had a chance to enamel a fine silver pendant with opaque enamels. Many thanks to Suzanne Phillips for inviting me to participate. I made new artist friends, namely , Robert Fionda, Brian Stewart and Michel Gagne. The week was so packed with activities that I didn’t get a chance to meet the other fine artists who took part.
